Be Vigilant!

Proper Preparedness and Response to Earthquakes

An earthquake is a sudden, rapid shaking of the ground. Earthquakes strike without a single warning. Any time, earthquake may occur or happens. No one can stop the coming of disasters like earthquakes. So the best thing to do is to be prepared and ready not only in some places but all countries in the world.

People who are used to earthquake drills are smart and know what to do when there is an earthquake. That's why we are conducting the "National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill" that is initiated by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (NDRRMC) to continuously instill to the public that earthquake preparedness should still be conducted amidst the pandemic.  This NEDC is very important and should not be missed to conduct.  Earthquake preparedness will save many people and other important things.

But even we conduct this earthquake drill, there are still many or some people who would not comply. The drill seems to be ignored a lot. Preparation are not taken seriously. They disagree with the call to prepare to prevent injury. You can see some were ain't really anticipating, talking to each other and complaining. Do you think in that way, they will learn what will they gonna do before, during  and after an earthquake and of  how will they save their lives? And then they will blame us that they were doomed when an earthquake really comes.

It is not wrong for you to talk to your companions every time you are conducting this kind of preparation but you should also remember what will happen when you do not obey and listen to what they are telling. In this kind of drills, Cooperation and solidarity should be needed so that incase an earthquake will come, we have the knowledge and we can save ourselves and others.

“Preparedness is the only way we can combat a natural disaster.”- by John Quinlan.

Holistic Education

Learning challenges today, can we still overcome it?

As a result of this pandemic, many have been affected including childrens education. Students, their parents and educators around the world are feeling the intensity of hardship, difficulties and pain because of the effect of the novel coronavirus.

There were many challenges and problems we are facing right now in terms of education. Some schools especially some private schools were also shutting down since as many students there have already transferred or dropped out of public schools. Right now, there were different ways on how educators can still provide to us quality education like modular learning, online learning and also lessons through TV and radio.

For me, it is hard to do and answer some questions on the modules since there were some that you cant find or see on it, you still have to research it. Sometimes I cant even concentrate because of the noise around me. You were the one should understand the lesson and answer the tasks given by yourself. It is really different when we are in school, there you are more focused on learning and teachers are able to explain the lessons better and you can easily understand it.

It is also important to us students not to be pressured in studying. We should also take a short break before answering another set of modules. Despite the challenges we will face, ensure that there is a balance in providing quality education.

Rise and Change for the Hope that waits

From the prostration, we will rise again. The epidemic has passed through many of us. It is natural for us Filipinos to wake up again. Covid-19 maybe is one of the most difficult trials to go through but I know we can overcome it.

Because of this pandemic, a lot of Filipinos were affected. Their livelihoods were affected because some lost their jobs. Many companies and businesses went bankrupt so they were forced to closed them. All tourist spots also collapsed. Is it too late for us, for our country to rise up again.

But from what I see right now, our country is slowly getting up. Little by little, we are rebuilding our economy which has been ruined by this pandemic. The companies and business and some tourist spots were definitely slowly growing and recovering.

I believe that we can overcome this pandemic. We have been able to solve the other major problems that our country faced in the past and facing today, why can’t we combat this Covid-19 pandemic. I believe we can able to stand up again maybe not the fast atleast we are slowly bringing back our country and slowly developing it again.
